Resolutions
The past few months (or year?) absolutely flew by, so in a small attempt to somehow make time less fleeting, I'm going to (semi-) publicly document my intentions for the year, and push myself to do a better job of checking in on them. Posting this to the wide web makes it more real, no?
Daily Start each day with a glass of water with lemon.
There are lots of benefits, but more than anything, I look forward to the morning constant, inserting a small positive routine into my not-so-stable AM schedule.
Weekly Go on a hike (hopefully for at least an hour).
We have an amazing abundance of parks, trails, mountains, preserves, and so on in very close proximity. Eric and I (and sometimes Lina) do a decent job of getting out and about, but there is still so much to explore! We have a handy guide book to get us started.
Monthly Read a physical book.
I know this one sounds a little ridiculous, but I've noticed over the past few years that my reading habits have shifted almost entirely to digital articles. And yet, we have bookshelves that are full to the brim. It should be an easy goal to reach, especially since I'm halfway through Edward Glaeser's Triumph of the City.
And a few Monthly intentions:
January [check] Apartment Therapy's Apartment Cure. We'll be deep cleaning, starting fresh in 2014.
February [check] Go to Big Sur
March [check] Move!
April [check] Visit grandparents, parents, and Texas.
May See return whale migration/Spring wildlife.
June [check] Go to Florida.
July [check] Visit Los Angeles.
August Take a calligraphy class.
September Visit Natchez, MS for Caroline's wedding.
October Find a long-term volunteer opportunity.
