Week 32: Scavenging
The hikes have been few and far between lately, but there's still plenty of exploring happening. So, the spirit of the New Years resolution lives on, if not explicitly in hike form.
This weekend was the Hillwide Garage Sale, so Nik and I (the thriftiest in our household) set out by bike and foot to scour the many garage sales dotting Bernal Hill. I came up empty-handed, but did squeeze in a good bit of biking and exploring the neighborhood.
Eric and I also stopped by Stuff, one of the most aptly-named businesses I've ever encountered. They have a huge selection of, well, stuff. It's hard to walk out empty-handed, and to not let a visit eat up an entire afternoon. We limited ourselves to 30 minutes and managed to only take home a few items - a pair of books and a small wooden frog memo holder.
Finally, a trip to Fabric Outlet in search of several sewing odds and ends resulted in a nice find of blue wool tweed that will soon become pillows (if everything goes according to plan, that is).
