Headlands Center for the Arts dinner
One of my absolute favorite places is the Marin Headlands, and one of the stand out parts of the open space is the Headlands Center for the Arts, a "multidisciplinary, international arts center dedicated to supporting artists; the creative process; and the development of new, innovative ideas and artwork."
Through a loosely known history, the Center for the Arts has a robust stash of vintage Heath dinnerware that is used in their mess hall by their artists in residence. In order to learn a bit more about their collection for a blog post on the Heath tumblr, my coworker Emily and I were lucky enough to join their artists and staff for a nightly dinner a few weeks ago.
The meal, prepared by chef Damon Little, included two posoles (one chicken and one vegetarian) along with a spread of delicious toppings. It was one of the best meals I've had in awhile and was shared with such warm and lovely company. Such a special night!
Vegetarian posole, with all the fixings! And yes, that’s a Heath bowl!
Beautiful, varied stash of vintage Heath dinnerware, and beautiful light.
